The NoHo Neighborhood Council would like to acknowledge that we live, work and play on the traditional land of the Tongva people, past and present, and honor with gratitude the land itself, and the people who have stewarded it throughout the generations.

Celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day!

Before Los Angeles, there was Yangna, home to the Tongva people, Native Americans who numbered at least 5,000 in the Los Angeles Basin before the arrival of Europeans.

NoHo Neighborhood Council would like to acknowledge that we live, work, and play on the traditional land of the Tongva people, past and present, and honor with gratitude the land itself, and the people who have stewarded it throughout the generations.

We invite you to learn more about the Indigenous People that lived in our region by checking out this page from the Los Angeles Public Library: https://www.lapl.org/collections-resources/blogs/lapl/stories-map-cave-tongva?fbclid=IwAR1Hnn6o01yhQU46Z4RkGBSaHHJvaF7nYvana6UPh1fu7f_UjapAhG59_oE
