Last May, the Los Angeles City Council adopted the motion from Council File 22-0029, which asked the City Attorney and the Department of Building and Safety to prepare an ordinance requiring property owners to install and maintain fire life safety equipment and enhanced security measures at any structure that remains vacant for more than 180 days. Since this issue directly affects multiple properties in NoHo, we sent this letter on January 16 to our Council Member and Council President Paul Krekorian for an update. Here is part of the response we received: "The Council President Office is working closely with the departments to implement the Council File's requirements, and we hope to see movement soon."
